| Press Release: The San Bruno Parks and Recreation Department is hosting an “Open Studio” art show at the Veterans Memorial Recreation Center at 251 City Park Way in San Bruno City Park. The art show will be held on Friday, March 9 from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday, March 10 from 10am to 4pm. On display will be artwork from the Beginning and Intermediate Mosaic class, Fused Glass class, Ceramics class, and the Sketching, Painting and Water Color class. Art Show, Reception and Open Studio Experience a wide range of art forms from realistic watercolors, abstract acrylics, and a wide variety of mosaic work to a double-headed mosaic snake with fossils and feathers in its mouth. Marble and granite inlays and beautiful creations in fused glass will also be on display. Charna's fused glass jewelry collection will be shown along with, for the first and only time during this open studio, a beautiful marble bust of a horse that she carved in Pietrasanta, Italy last fall. 20% of any proceeds from Charna's work will be donated to the Wall of Hope mosaic that she will be doing with children in Tanzania Africa in July. Artist Charna Conway teaches painting, fine arts, mosaic and glass fusion to children and adults. She loves passing on her knowledge of working with these different mediums to others. Open Studio will also feature artist Marilyn Bennett who has taught ceramics, porcelain doll making and other crafts at the San Bruno Parks and Recreation Department for nearly 30 years.
